Membership

Membership of Con Brio is open to anybody in the area with an interest in singing. The ability to read music, while helpful is not essential. The only significant criterion is that you must be able to satisfy Shirley of your ability to sing.

Like most community choirs we are particularly short of top sopranos and tenors. However, the choir will give a warm welcome to anybody who is enthusiastic about singing.

Rehearsals are held every Tuesday evening at the United Church Hall, St Margaret’s Street from 8-10pm. Concerts are usually on a Friday or Saturday evening.

Choir members are expected to attend rehearsals and participate in concerts.

Throughout the year there are also a small number of social events.

Cost:

Subscription is currently £10 per calendar month. This covers:

• Cost of music - all music remains the property of Con Brio and must be returned when leaving the choir
• Hire of the hall
• Accompanist’s fees

Uniform

The choir has a formal and informal uniform, according to the occasion. The cost for these is shared between the choir and the member.
